Affirming the massive success of their 2007 world tour, The Police have unanimously been awarded the tour of the year in all territories where they performed. The tour no one thought would ever happen is a massive success, with ticket sales of 2.2 million tickets before the year’s end.
Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland officially announced their reunion in February last year at Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, with the announcement of undertaking a world tour, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their hit single "Roxanne.” British rockers started their tour on May 28th in 2007 with the concert in Vancouver, and the news of their reunion drew great attention of the fans. Tickets for eight concerts in England were sold out within half an hour, and it is believed that over 2,2 million tickets were sold for their performances until the end of 2007!
And now, due to overwhelming demand, European fans who were unable to see The Police will have the opportunity to catch the top selling tour of the year when it returns to Europe next summer. The Billboard Award winning tour will start 2008 with performances in Australia, New Zealand and Japan before arriving in Europe for dates in France, Denmark, Spain, Seriba, Poland, Czech Republic, Norway, Germany and the UK.
Beginning early June in France through early July, The Police will play a variety of venues including festivals, outdoor stadiums and indoor arenas.
